On May 9th, Europe Day will take place again in the twin European cities of Frankfurt-Oder and Slubice. On this occasion, the residents of both cities and of course guests from the Frankfurt-Oder hotels<\/strong><\/a> invited to many events. The motto of the event in the Kleist Museum is \u201cPlaying connects\u201d. Here German and Polish schoolchildren from the second to the 12th grade are invited to play together. After the students, young and old meet to play later in the afternoon. Also in the Kleist Museum is the special exhibition \u201cConnecting Pictures\u201d.<\/p>\n

Europe Day is taking place for the seventh time this year. This year around 40 events will take place under the motto \"Shaping Europe together\". Children and young people in particular should have the opportunity to get to know each other better and to deal with Europe. Many of the items on the program are therefore designed for a young target group. Among other things, school groups from Germany and Poland will discuss Brexit. The topic of cross-border shopping in the digital world is also interesting for adults. Here you have the opportunity to talk to migrants from eleven countries and learn more about the current situation in different European countries.<\/p>\n

The art festival \u201cART at the border\u201d is taking place parallel to Europe Day this year. The organizers invite you to the vernissage on April 24th and open the festival, which ends on May 10th. The event will take place on the student mile in Grosse Scharrnstra\u00dfe in Frankfurt-Oder. In total, more than ten German and Polish artists from the region are showing their works. Among other things, sculptures, figures made of papier-m\u00e2ch\u00e9, graffiti and paintings can be seen. In addition to the exhibition, the festival also includes music and film events, readings, theater performances and workshops.<\/p>\n

Some events such as the \"ART Party\" are offered especially for the students of the Viadrina University. Festival visitors with festival wristbands even have free entry here. The \u201cART pub quiz\u201d on May 1st in the WG Bar festival will also be an entertaining evening. Here, a team of up to four people has to answer 70 questions about art, culture and curiosities. Of course there is also something to win. However, registration is required here.<\/p>\n

On Europe Day itself, the exhibition of the \"ART at the border\" festival can also be visited in the afternoon. At the end of the festival on May 10, a fire show and an after-show party await the participants.<\/p>\n
