Especially if you are visiting Frankfurt (Oder) with children, you should definitely plan a visit to the wildlife park.<\/p>\n

Animals almost like in the wild<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Frankfurt (Oder) wildlife park is part of the city forest in the Rosengarten district and is around 16 hectares in size. The site is designed like a park. On the site, many animals move freely and similar to those in the wild. The wildlife park also includes a pond landscape, an apiary and a petting zoo, which children especially love. Among other things, mountain goats, sheep, llamas, red deer, pot-bellied pigs, raccoons and foxes live in the Frankfurt Wildlife Park.<\/p>\n

In 1999, the first animals were settled on the site. The site was previously used primarily for military purposes. First there was a firing range of the grenadier barracks of the Imperial German Army. From 1945 the Soviet military used the firing range until 1994. Over the next few years, the area quickly began to become overgrown and was rebuilt by the park's founders. The first new residents were about 40 fallow deer and three wild boars. The wildlife park was opened on June 1st, 2000.<\/p>\n

The wildlife park is open daily from April to October from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. In the winter months it closes at 4 p.m. Admission is \u20ac3 for adults and \u20ac1 for children under 14. From ten people you can also use the group rate for two euros for adults and 0.75 euros for children.<\/p>\n

Gronenfelder Werkst\u00e4tten gGmbH has been responsible for the zoo since 2006. This makes the park part of the Diakonie Frankfurt (Oder). A lot of work in the wildlife park is therefore carried out by people with disabilities. In the wildlife park school, children learn a lot about nature and the environment. There are also numerous offers - especially for children - such as pony rides or natural history tours. A bistro also belongs to the wildlife park. You can reach the zoo by bus or by car.
